“Sonatina” —Kuhlau
Invocation
Confession and Absolution P: Pastor C: Congregation
P: If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
C: But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just, will forgive our sins and cleanse
us from all unrighteousness.
Silence for reflection and for self-examination.
P: Let us confess our sins to God our Father.
C: Most merciful God, we confess that we are by nature sinful and unclean. We have
sinned against You in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done and by what we have
left undone. We have not loved You with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as
ourselves. We justly deserve Your present and eternal punishment. For the sake of Your Son,
Jesus Christ, have mercy on us. Forgive us, renew us, and lead us, so that we may delight in
Your will and walk in Your ways to the glory of Your holy name. Amen.
P: Almighty God in His mercy has given His Son to die for you and for His sake forgives you all your
sins. As a called and ordained servant of Christ, and by His authority, I therefore declare to you
the forgiveness of all your sins in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
You are forgiven!
C: Amen.
P: Our Father, in you we live and move and have our being. For you are the source of all that is
good.
C: Therefore we praise you for every gift in our possession, because each gift finds its
origin in your creativity.
P: Without your gift of joy, we would have no song worth singing.
C: Without you we would not know the art of making music or the delight of using word
and sound to your glory.
P: Lord, you and your mighty deeds are our theme.
C: We can never exhaust so vast a subject. For by your Spirit we find fresh meaning in
old songs, and new songs are born out of your never changing Word.
P: Forgive us, Father, when we worship the gift instead of the gift giver.
C: Help us, to surrender our powers to you, as the one who granted them to us. To you be
all glory and praise.

“A Reason to Sing”
Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
Benediction
P: You are free in Christ! Go in peace.
C: Thanks be to God!
